Easter 2026

He is Risen!!! What a beautiful time of year to celebrate such a beautiful gospel! Easter bunny came to the house on Saturday and then we made resurrection rolls for breakfast and got to stay in our pjs all day and listen to conference!

Pickleball

We played pickleball with Marcos and Janeth. It was such a fun time to have a couple to play with! It was both of their first time, but they showed up in matching outfits and by the second game, they were really getting the hang of it! Such good people! So glad they found each other!

Tummy issues

Alex has been having terrible stomach pains, so he did a scope to his belly…everything came back looking good! Thank goodness!

Craft time

We have been so stressed with getting the house ready to sell, but for my birthday I gave myself some time to do a little project that’s been on my mind! I wanted to do something with gold leafing…they had the silver leaf on sale so I went with the silver.  Love to be creative!

Happy Anniversary My Love

We celebrated our 24th with lunch and bowling. I actually won!
So grateful for this man in my life. We make a pretty great team! We have had up and downs and he has faithfully and fiercely loved me through it all. Couldn’t have asked for a better person to do life with!

Girls Trip

I went on a girls trip with a bunch of ladies from my ward. It was so much fun! Like girls camp for adults…and I wasn’t in charge of anything! Just got to go and have fun!! We ate, talked, played games, talked, hot tubbed, talked, went for walks, talked, laughed, talked, crafts, talked and stayed up way too late each night!

Downsizing

With each kid leaving and our family getting smaller, our house kept feeling like it was getting bigger…the church announced that girls can serve missions at 18 and that bumped up our empty nesters date by a year and so after MUCH deliberation, we decided to downsize. This decision was probably the hardest, scariest, most confusing decision Alex and I have ever made. When we finally decided to pull the trigger, we still had to tell ourselves that we can only have positive thoughts, and keep a positive attitude through the process. I’m not going to lie, there are so many emotions involved in this move. We have signed the contract and picked all the design elements and they broke ground about a week ago. Here’s to stepping into the dark and having faith God will show us the way!

Grief

Grief is a complicated thing...shows up in the wildest ways. I have been updating our blog and trying to get books printed and have spent a lot of time looking at pictures of our family and I realized through it all that these pictures were our last family pictures. Yes, I know our family will grow and we will add to it and still take pictures, but these were the last pictures of the Rasmussen Family party of 6 and every time I look at them, it makes me smile with tenderness and also cry from a heavy heart. Nothing can prepare you for the heartache of children leaving. Its like a joyful misery.  Zurie will be graduating early and leaving on her mission in less than a year. Why didn't I listen when people told me don't blink because you'll miss it all! So grateful for these little people Alex and I got to share life with, they will forever be my tribe!  I guess now we look forward to a future of joy in our posterity!

17 big ones!

Alex said he wanted to be in charge of Zurie’s birthday this year so he got Zurie and I an experience at a Japanese Head Spa. It was such a fun time!

Marcos got Married!

This day is a symbol of hope for me. We watched our friend Marcos go through the journey of a rocky marriage to divorce to dating to reconnection of a lost love and finally marriage and we could not be more happy for him. He has found such a beautiful, kind and joyful women, Janet. She is so good for Marcos and it’s so good to see a smile on his face!
Marcos called us less than 24 hours before they were to marry to ask if we could be the witnesses. It was not a coincidence that Alex and I were both available. God is in the details! So glad we got to be a part of today!

New Years Celebration

I think this is the first time we’ve ever gone to a party on New Year’s Eve! It was so fun! We stayed until New York's countdown, but we enjoyed some yummy food and good friends!

Christmas

I wish I would have taken more pictures, cause we had more fun than this pictures portray! Ha! We got up and made our traditional egg McMuffins and orange Julius. We then opened presents from each other and did stockings. The boys and Aliya called and we got to talk for a little bit and then we make a Thanksgiving feast for lunch and invited Marcos over. After lunch it was such a beautiful day so we went and played Disc Golf. We were sweating! I think it needed up to 78 degrees! We came home and had some dessert and talked to the boys again. The day was very different, but it got filled with beautiful memories!
